Copley Cricket Club are holding a fundraising cricket match on Friday evening 25 May – between a Yorkshire County Cricket Club X1 and a Halifax League Presidents X1. This is the latest fundraising event the club have been planning in their NatWest CricketForce Showcase year. It promises to be an excellent evening’s entertainment and they hope you might be able to attend.

Fingers’ crossed for some good weather and that we have a plentiful supply of cricket balls!!

Kingfisher Beer are proud to present the launch of their ‘Kingfisher Quiz & Curry Night’, in association with the Professional Cricketer’s Association (PCA). This fundraising initiative has been created as part of an awareness campaign to build the brand’s associations with recreational cricket in the UK.

The initiative is aimed at recreational cricket clubs but is ultimately open to anyone who is interested in the concept and would like to host at their venue. Quiz packs are available to download from the Kingfisher website and consist of 2 great, interactive sports quiz videos hosted by Graeme Swann and a number of other familiar PCA Ambassadors. The quiz packs include all the essentials needed to run a successful Quiz & Curry Night, including handy tips, advertising posters, ticket templates and answer sheets.

    Seventeen years to the day since he first donned the White Rose of Yorkshire, Anthony McGrath proved he still has much to offer his county as his 106 kept them alive in their LV= County Championship clash against Hampshire.

    Simon Katich took his score on to 196 as Hampshire retained the upper hand over Yorkshire on day two of their LV= County Championship Division Two clash. The White Rose closed 327 behind on 100 for three.
